The trek offers a night near the sacred Bumdra Monastery, panoramic views of the Himalayas, and a descent past several temples leading to the famous Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Taktsang).
The highest point is Bumdra Monastery, located at around 3,800 m (12,467 ft). Altitude sickness is usually not a major issue since the trek is short, but proper acclimatization is essential.
Spring (March-May) and autumn (September-November) are the most suitable times of the year. The seasons are pleasant with clear skies and the Himalayas and valley scenery are exquisite in these seasons.
Short but moderately challenging trek. The daily walks will be 4–6 hours uphill and downhill. It is recommended that participants possess a satisfactory fitness level, although prior trekking experience is not required.
During the trek, you will be staying in tented camps in and around Bumdra Monastery. You will spend the nights in friendly 3-star hotels in Paro and Thimphu and have the option of upgrading.
